The 2010 5 oz Silver America the Beautiful Yellowstone National Park Coin represents the second release of the inaugural year in the United States Mint’s America the Beautiful (ATB) 5 oz Silver Bullion Program. Introduced in 2010 and continuing through 2021, the series honors the natural beauty, historical landmarks, and protected landscapes found throughout the United States.
 
Struck from 5 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, this large-format bullion coin celebrates Yellowstone National Park, the world’s first national park. Established on March 1, 1872, Yellowstone spans parts of Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho, and is famous for its geothermal activity, expansive wilderness, and diverse wildlife populations including bison, wolves, elk, and grizzly bears.
 
The design captures two of Yellowstone’s most recognizable symbols: the American bison, a powerful representation of the park’s wildlife heritage, and Old Faithful, the legendary geyser that has become synonymous with Yellowstone’s geothermal wonders. With a limited mintage of 33,000 coins, the 2010 Yellowstone release remains a foundational issue within the ATB series and a standout piece for collectors of modern U.S. silver coinage.

The reverse showcases a majestic American bison standing in the foreground, with the famous Old Faithful geyser erupting in the background. Inscriptions include “Yellowstone,” “Wyoming,” “E Pluribus Unum,” and the year of issue.
