Item Description

The 2011 5 oz America the Beautiful Gettysburg Silver Coin is the ninth release in the prestigious America the Beautiful (ATB) 5 oz Silver Bullion Coin Program from the United States Mint. Struck from 5 troy ounces of .999 fine silver, this large-format coin commemorates Gettysburg National Military Park in Pennsylvania, one of the most historically significant battlefields in the United States.

The America the Beautiful series celebrates national parks, historic landmarks, and culturally significant locations across the country. The Gettysburg release honors the pivotal Battle of Gettysburg, fought in July 1863 during the American Civil War. This battle marked a major turning point in the conflict and is often referred to as the High Water Mark of the Confederacy.

With a limited mintage of 126,700 coins, the Gettysburg issue combines historic significance with substantial silver content. Its impressive 5 oz format allows the design to be displayed in striking detail, making it a desirable addition for both collectors of modern U.S. coinage and silver investors.
