Item Description
The 2020 2 oz Silver Kraken Coin is the inaugural release in the Creatures of the North Series from the Royal Canadian Mint. Struck from 2 troy ounces of .9999 fine silver, this Brilliant Uncirculated coin blends legendary maritime mythology with the Royal Canadian Mint’s renowned bullion craftsmanship.
The Kraken has long been one of the most enduring legends of the sea. For centuries, sailors told tales of massive tentacled creatures lurking beneath the ocean’s surface, capable of dragging ships into the depths. While these stories were often exaggerated, they may have been inspired by encounters with enormous deep-sea animals such as giant squid.
With its larger 2 oz format and dramatic design, the Kraken coin offers both strong bullion value and collectible appeal. Issued as legal tender by Canada with a $10 CAD face value, this coin represents a unique fusion of mythology and modern silver bullion artistry.
