Among the most enduring of these legends is the Kraken.
This 2020 Silver Kraken marks the first entry in the Royal Canadian Mint’s Creatures of the North series. Each coin is struck in Brilliant Uncirculated condition and contains a substantial 2 troy ounces of pure silver, resulting in a coin that is notably thicker and more imposing than standard 1 oz bullion issues.
The obverse of the coin features the right-profile effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, created by Susanna Blunt in 2003. This portrait represents the fourth-generation likeness of Her Majesty used on Canadian coinage during her reign and reflects a modern, dignified interpretation of the monarch.
