Czech Lion Series
The Czech Mint launched its first bullion coin program in 2017 with the introduction of the Silver Czech Lion series. It quickly earned recognition for its patriotic themes, bold relief, and limited mintages. While the reverse design has evolved over time, it consistently highlights the iconic two-tailed Czech Lion featured in the nation’s coat of arms. Complementary symbols of Czech statehood—including the Crown of Saint Wenceslas, a linden branch, and a shield bearing an eagle—are regularly incorporated, reinforcing the coin’s strong national identity. The series is issued under license from Niue.
 
Czech Mint
Founded in 1993 following the dissolution of Czechoslovakia, the Czech Mint is among Europe’s newer national mints. Established with authorization from the Czech National Bank, it serves as the sole producer of Czech circulation coinage and is also responsible for commemorative coins and medals. Through series such as the Czech Lion, the mint has built a reputation for combining national symbolism with modern minting excellence.
