Struck from 1 troy ounce of .9999 fine silver, this Brilliant Uncirculated coin honors Athena, the revered goddess of wisdom, warfare, and strategic battle.
 
Athena was one of the most respected figures in Greek mythology, known not only for her strength in combat but also for her intelligence and wisdom. Often depicted with armor, shield, and spear, she symbolized both the tactical side of warfare and the pursuit of knowledge. Her sacred companion, the owl, represented wisdom and vigilance.
 
Following the tremendous success of the original antiqued Gods of Olympus series, which debuted in 2014 and quickly sold out, The Perth Mint introduced this bullion edition to continue the legacy of the popular mythology-themed collection. With a limited mintage of just 13,500 coins worldwide, the 2022 Athena release combines artistic design, high-purity silver, and strong collector appeal.

Obverse
 
The obverse displays the Ian Rank-Broadley effigy of Queen Elizabeth II, along with inscriptions indicating the denomination, year of issue (2022), weight, and silver purity, confirming its legal tender status for Tuvalu.
 
Reverse
 
The reverse depicts Athena standing ready for battle, holding her spear and shield while wearing classical armor. Above her flies an owl, symbolizing wisdom and watchfulness. The design also includes the inscription “ATHENA” along with The Perth Mint’s “P” mint mark.
