The Silver Britannia series is known for the work of two distinguished coin designers: Jody Clark and Philip Nathan. Their artistry has elevated the Britannia series beyond a standard bullion issue, blending traditional symbolism with modern design precision.
 
Beginning in 2021, the Royal Mint introduced four advanced security features to protect the coin against counterfeiting. These include a latent image that shifts between a trident and padlock depending on viewing angle, animated wave patterns that reflect light dynamically, tincture lines within Britannia’s shield, and micro-engraved text reading “Decus et Tutamen” meaning “An ornament and a safeguard.”
 
Obverse
 
The obverse features the portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, designed by Jody Clark. The design captures the Queen with remarkable detail and includes the inscriptions “Elizabeth II,” “D.G.,” “REG,” “F.D.” and “2 Pounds.” These Latin abbreviations translate to “By the Grace of God, Queen, Defender of the Faith.”
