Grendel's Mother is one of the most feared monsters found in the epic poem Beowulf. She infests Heorot, the mead hall of King Hrothgar, and perpetuates an attack against them because Beowulf had killed her son, Grendel. Beowulf pursues her down to her underwater lair, where they have a legendary neck-to-neck fight. Using his giant sword, Beowulf manages to both slay her and behead the corpse of her son, Grendel, ending the ghastly threat towards Heorot.
