First introduced in 2016, the Silver Kangaroo quickly established itself as one of the most recognizable and in-demand silver bullion coins worldwide. Issued by the Perth Mint, this series stands apart from its gold counterpart by maintaining a consistent annual design inspired by Stuart Devlin’s iconic Australian Copper Penny.
Struck from .9999 fine silver, Silver Kangaroo coins combine exceptional purity with refined craftsmanship. Each coin carries legal tender status backed by the Australian government and incorporates advanced security features, making it both a trusted bullion investment and a visually striking collectible.
The 2026 1 oz Australian Silver Kangaroo continues this tradition of quality and precision.

Design Details
The Silver Kangaroo showcases a repeating radial pattern that enhances both its visual appeal and security.
The reverse features a stylized hopping kangaroo positioned within a circular frame. Surrounding inscriptions along the outer rim identify the coin as “AUSTRALIAN KANGAROO” and list the year, weight, metal content, and fineness, reading “2026 1 OZ 9999 SILVER.” A discreet “P” mintmark to the right signifies production by the Perth Mint.
The obverse, designed by Dan Thorne, presents a left-facing portrait of King Charles III. Encircling the effigy are the inscriptions “CHARLES III,” “AUSTRALIA,” and the denomination “1 DOLLAR.”
