Marcus Tullius Cicero and the Right to Keep and Bear Arms
Marcus Tullius Cicero lived from 106 BC to 43 BC and remains one of the most influential thinkers of the Roman Republic. Celebrated for his intellect, Cicero distinguished himself as a lawyer, philosopher, scholar, and master orator. His writings shaped Roman political thought and elevated Latin as a language of philosophy, law, and academic discourse.
Throughout his career, Cicero played a critical role in pivotal moments of Roman history. He helped expose and suppress a major coup attempt and later opposed the concentration of power under Julius Caesar, advocating instead for a return to republican governance and the rule of law.
