The swamp creature made its big-screen debut in the 1954 film, “Creature from the Black Lagoon.” The swamp creature is a 7-foot-tall living fossil with powerful clawed feet and hands. This creature can also stay submerged for long periods of time. The swamp creature has evolved over the years as Guillermo Del Toro used the creature as inspiration for his best picture-winning film “The Shape of Water.”
